The grade of saffron is determined by examination of the saffron absorbance value dissolved in water, measured at λ=440 nm. To acchieve the Grade 1 stamp the value must be 190 and above. Our saffron offered to you for sale here measures in at a very high value of 225-268, testimonial to a top class strong crop. The saffron is harvested by hand early in the dawn before sunrise and then the stigmas are removed by hand and dried in totally hygienic laboratory conditions, allowing for the highest levels of both Crocine and Safranal. Our saffron has been awarded the ISO 3632 saffron standards.
